I'm a Truck!

Jackson and I went to Hobby Lobby tonight so I could stock up for my scrapbook day tomorrow. Of course I found a book to add to his collection. It was called "I'm a Truck." So naturally, he kept repeating the phrase over and over. When a passerby sweetly asked him, "Are you a big boy?", he sweetly replied, "I'm a truck!"

Tractor Tipping

This is a hilarious video with Jackson imitating "tractor tipping" from the movie "Cars." Don't forget to stop the music player at the bottom of the blog before you watch!
Enjoy!

To everything there is a season...

It's been a long time since I've blogged, but our family has been going thru some major changes. We moved on April 10th, with the much-appreciated help from our care group at church. It was amazing--the old house was packed and the 26-foot U-Haul unloaded into our new house between 8am and noon. Amazing! Thanks to my friend Jenny, every box (not including the basement) was unpacked by that evening. It felt so great to have everything done! And by the next day, pictures were hung and things were in place. I took Jackson to our old house to say good-bye; we went to every room so that he could see that nothing was left behind. Meanwhile, I was bawling my eyes out. I didn't realize I was sad, but once I wasn't bustling about (and once the pregnancy hormones kicked in, I'm sure), tears were streaming. That house sure was good to us.

But we really are enjoying our new surroundings. We're closer to church, which is a bonus since one of us is there 6 days a week. Wow, I didn't realized that. We're also closer to some different stores (including Target, which I remember how much I like!) The only problem has been sleep. Jackson likes our new house, but he has had a hard time adjusting. It didn't help that I thought it was a good idea to make the transition out of his crib at the same time as the move. Good move. I might as well have had the baby, too. So we weren't getting ANY sleep and patience was running very thin, especially mine. Thankfully, JW and I came to the conclusion that Jackson staying in the crib was NO BIG DEAL and so he is back in his crib and we are all SO much happier. Especially me. My parents will come soon with his "big boy bed" that is a bulldozer, which I'm sure will excite him, but NO RUSH to get him into it. I mean, I figure baby girl will be in the Pack'n'Play for at LEAST her first 3 months if not more, buying Jackson at least 6 more months in his crib. So we're good.

Another factor in my fatigue has been that I went to a conference last week, and because I didn't want to take days off of my maternity leave, I am working 5 days/week for 2 weeks. Not a big deal before, when I was working 6-7 days/week, but when I'm used to having that day, trust me, it IS a big deal. No offense to my patients, whom I love dearly, but quite frankly they are very needy and whiny, and I thought my 2 year old was whiny! My patients are SO much worse. So that doesn't help my mood when I get home at the end of the day, believe me.

I am very much looking forward to a weekend off. I'm planning on taking lots of pictures this weekend of our new surroundings to blog and to scrapbook, so keep your eyes out. Thanks for reading and thanks for all your prayers!

He is Risen!

Happy Easter, everyone! Our family had a wonderful day full of worship, friends, family...and a little work thrown in there, too.

JW did an awesome job on the worship team at church. I chose to dress Jackson just like his Daddy.

I bought a new Easter dress so that I could look cute for Jesus, so here is our little family portrait...

When we got home, Jackson found his Easter basket and some plastic eggs outside. Then we enjoyed a wonderful Easter brunch with Grammi.

Finally, after Jackson went down for his nap, I packed up basically the entire kitchen. I was pretty tired, but it felt nice. One more week until moving day!
Praise God for Jesus' sacrifice!
